Abstract

The location tracking application may harm the security or privacy of a person using the device. One satellite gets the information of the device, while other satellites interconnect each other to find the location. These products use location tracking application which may affect the privacy of a person. GPRS get the information of the device from the nearest tower location or the location from where device is getting signals. Location tracking applications use GPS (Global Positioning System) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) for tracking the location. It is good application, in the sense of security because it provides the location of person using the device continuously but it affects the privacy of a person using this feature.

Introduction

In this 21st century, the advancement in technology decreases the distance from one another all over the world. The present age is the age of scientific inventions. In this era, the use of smart phones becomes common and every second person is using the application of smart phones (Han et.al, 2013). Google and Apple are two big giants in the field of telecommunication devices. Android smart phones and the products of Apple are very common nowadays. These products use location tracking application which may affect the privacy of a person.

Location tracking applications use GPS (Global Positioning System) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) for tracking the location. GPS get information from different satellites, which identify the position of device with interconnection among three satellites. One satellite gets the information of the device, while other satellites interconnect each other to find the location. GPRS get the information of the device from the nearest tower location or the location from where device is getting signals. In this way, from the location of transmitting tower the location of the device can be found. The location tracking application may harm the security or privacy of a person using the device. The locations are also used by companies to advertise their applications on different websites, which may spoil privacy of the person.

Location tracking applications are used to identify the location of the device or the place of operation of a device. It is good application, in the sense of security because it provides the location of person using the device continuously but it affects the privacy of a person using this feature. It is good feature for parents, because parents want to know the location or the activities of their children (Hong et.al, 2013). This application keeps the parents update about the location of their children.
