The book 'Criminal Justice in America' has been written to highlight the judicial system in America and also focuses on the various aspects of providing justice, with reduction in sentence being one of them. it is eminent to mention here that the author has placed special focus on imprisonment as well as reduction of sentence, in order to highlight the importance and significance of this reduction, combined with its aftereffects and the positive impact on the prisoners. The book is different from 'Crime Reduction and the Length of Prison Sentences' as it focuses on various aspects of the issue, while the later one deals solely with length of imprisonment period. The book is meant for law students as well as human rights activists and the social scientists, and can play an active part in assisting them in getting a better understanding of the judicial system of America as well as the various aspects of imprisonment and the reduction in sentence. I have selected the topic for my assignment as it provides all the useful and essential information related to the topic and also covers all the other relevant topics and points.
