Introduction

In any business there are a number of activities and jobs that are to be done. These all jobs and tasks require the use of specific software packages. The entire business activity relies on these software packages; therefore, the selection of these software packages in very important (Jackson, 2010). This paper contains the recommendation of six software packages for managing the tasks of PPQ manufacturing company, in terms of their pros and cons.

Discussion

Pros and Cons are associated with almost every system, which are needed to be considered while planning to deploy certain software packages within the company. Being the part of management team of PPQ Parts manufacturing Company, six software packages are required for the company's MRP (Material Requirements Planning), ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and CRP (Capacity Requirement Planning).

Oracle

Oracle is the most integrated and complete software for the business world at global level. It has an amazing package of e-business, providing the most comprehensive applications of business. It provides ease in the financial management, Customer Relationship Management and Procurement dealings. The management of MRP, ERP and even CRP will be efficient with Oracle as it also facilitates in supply chain management, manufacturing processes, Asset lifecycle management, and product lifecycle management. Oracle is best in integration, information scheduling, and sales forecasting, but it is incompatible with other databases, do not provide industry specific activities, and is not user friendly in its reports format (Gill, 2011).

SAP Software

SAP provides best solutions for ERP of the company in terms of its technological solutions. It leads the company to be the leader in market share with its sophisticated nature of maintaining the customer base. It provides an enterprise-wide and centralized system with consistent advantages of streamlined processes of business, and reduction in interfaces among applications.
