Introduction

Many children today at very young age do not understand their family complexities. Today's generation is so family oriented so in order to let our generation about family data and complexities, Genogram is the best and effective tool. A genogram is a diagram type of family just like family tree used to look has a look over multiple generations and various patterns (Goldrick, 1999). Genogram is a journey through the interactions and family games, analyzes and develops a model for apply individually or in groups and provides technical tools for a workshop that integrates diverse people of the same age or developmental cycle, or it operates with few members or a large group. It reveals various aspects of family life that are unexpected or sensitive (FRIEDMAN, 1988). As a growing adult I find it important to know family structure and the reason behind this structure therefore in this paper I am going to do my family analysis with the help of Genogram. The information collected from genogram should be treated with respect. Genogram is one of the effective ways to layout my family structure and see the relationship between my family members along with strong emotional statuses of specific family manner. In this paper I would only discuss my immediate family members and their life because my father and mothers side is pretty large. Though I find gender role and structure of my family very complex and we have strengths and weakness thus in my opinion discussing my family members characteristics may give me and other readers a better understanding of our lives today.

My name is Harouna Samura I belong to a Muslim family, we initially were 7 family members, my mother, father, one sister and 3 brother. I am at the 4th position. All my sister and brothers are married. My father's name is Saidu Samura; he was born in 1929 on April 4th. My mother's name is Humu Samura; she was born in 1932 on July 10th. I have 3 brothers and one sister in total. My elder brother's name is Unisa Samura, he is 53 and he was born on June 05, 1960. He has three children which are not married. My 2nd elder brother's name is Abdul Samura who was born on 28 February 1968. He has 3 children and they all are married. My third brother was born on June 10 1970, his name is Osman Samura he has one daughter which is married. I am on the fourth position I was born on 12th November. I have one child who is married. My sister is the youngest in the family whose name is Kadiatu Samura. She was born on 13th March 1982. She has one child who is not yet married. I was the only child of my parents with physical disability.
