ABSTRACT
The perception of gender pay difference is consistent among the difference of earnings between male and female.
Objective: The main objective of carrying out this study is to understand the differences in perceptions on difference which exist between men and women pay. This paper examines individual perspectives and perceptions between men and women using data gathered from a survey.
Results:Results obtained from the data gathered have revealed that both male and female do not hold any perception regarding the difference on gender pay equity, results also illustrated that no gender pay inequality exists.
Conclusion:From the studies it can be concluded that there is not an issue with gender pay differences in New Mexico.
Recommendations: With that said, and given the importance of the issue of gender pay equity in the United States, further explanations have revealed that the perception are different. And more research work is needed to explore the subject.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study
In general, discrimination is defined as the distinction or differentiation is made for or against a person or thing in comparison with others socially discriminated, when making distinctions between people based on class or category without regard to individual merit. Some examples of categories of social discrimination are race, gender, age, nationality, religion, disability, sexual orientation, height and weight. In the United States, many forms of discrimination were common in the workplace before the second half of the twentieth century. In the 60's, the movement that led to the enactment of laws against discrimination began with the Equal Pay Act (Equal Pay Act) of 1963, which followed the Civil Rights Act (Civil Rights Act) of 1964 marked a milestone in the legislation. Soon more laws were enacted to try to eliminate virtually all imaginable forms of discrimination in the employment practices of private and government. Despite the wide variety of laws, discrimination may occur in the job ads in the selection, evaluation, hiring and firing of staff, in the terms and conditions of employment, as well as compensation, benefits, and in deciding who receives training and what type of training is ...
