Introduction
Women are considered as the pride of any nation. Unfortunately, it is a fact that they are underrated in most of the professional works across the globe. Not only in underdeveloped or developing countries, but also in well established developed countries, women are not been provided with the appropriate amount of wages that a particular occupation deserves. But, the gender biasness of the social realm constrained women in achieving prospect success and triumph in the professional industry. Various sociological studies have been conducted, catering to the working rights of women, but unable to create any impact on the societal arrangements and models. There is no doubt that a woman has various aspects in her life, which affects her working rights and professionalism.
This assignment is principally a book report, over viewing and analyzing the aspects of “Not having it all: How motherhood reduces women's pay and employment prospect”. This book is written by Jessica Woodroffe, in 2009. The book primarily caters to the biggest cause that let women reduce pay scale and less job security, with low grade professional career. Being into Motherhood is principally the biggest dream of every girl. Transforming from a girl into a mother is considerably the most beautiful part in a woman's life, but, unfortunately, being transformed into a mother; it creates various problems in a woman's life regarding survival in the professional career. This book highlighted various aspects of motherhood that reduces a woman's pay in the professional realm, and how society distinguishes them from fatherhood. Whether considering it gender biasness or not, but that is the way it is. The argument of this book in not that every mother should have to be in paid work, but the mothers who choose or need to be in paid work should be able to do so without any pay penalty (Woodroffe, J. 2009).

From having a baby, and with the advent of parental hood, the society has some preset roles for men and women that separate between a father and mother's role in the society, which eventually leads to differentiation in their payments in the professional industry. Becoming a mother creates a vivid and striking impact on the professional careers of women, and this penalty eventually stays as long as mother and children are together in their lives. Generally mothers do have more care for children than fathers, and this is merely the reason that mothers are more likely to work, for the betterment of their children.
The consequence of the motherhood starts with pregnancy, when potential mother has to resign from her paid job to give birth to her new family member and for his/her childhood care.
