The theory of multiple intelligences was developed in 1983 by psychologist Howard Gardner, professor at Harvard University. Gardner first outlined his theory in the book Frames of Mind: the theory of multiple intelligences, and was later expanded in subsequent publications. Although originally developed his theory as a contribution to psychology, the idea of multiple intelligences called attention to all educators. According to Gardner, intelligence is usually defined as not adequately cover the wide range of human capacities, so that suggests that there are eight intelligences that would realize the vast human potential (Gardner, 2006). In this paper, I would discuss on four types intelligence and I would give my own opinions on them as well .
Linguistic intelligence
Linguistic intelligence represents the ability to use language, your native language, and possibly other languages, to express what's on your mind and to understand other people. It is most developed in poets, but also necessary for any writer, orator, speaker, lawyer, or a person for whom language is an important base for operations (Chen & Gardner, 2005).
Gardner's theory of linguistic intelligence combines the ability of learning languages' with the ability of using articulate language to express oneself and the ability to teach others. Linguistic intelligence allows an individual to communicate and articulate in such a way that will promote the accomplishment of goals (Gardner, 2006). I believe that linguistic intelligence can have a profound positive impact on my personal success due to the fact that my ability to speak clearly and articulately will enables me to maintain a position of authority and this will provide the opportunity for me to be a good leader and counselor. The rhetorical skills of this intelligence will enable me to use language as a tool for persuasion and refined negotiating skills which are necessary in many professions today. Having the skills to implement these basic human communication devices will support and promote success in the field of psychology as I will be able to effectively communicate and understand the messages my clients are trying to convey, and effectively assist them with their personal and sensitive issues.
Linguistic will help me in my personal success in many ways such as writing a set to instructions, write a speech, apply positive, or negative to a story. Also to edit a written work, and even to speak about a subject. Linguistic helps me because I get more knowledge of new words and tend to use them in sentences or practice how to pronounce them. I find if you use words or a vocabulary of your age and professionalism you will look very educated and show it just by your speaking. Also when I will speak to someone I use my high vocabulary, and they will ask me what the word means I will tell them the term of it, by that way I am pursuing them to learn new words and myself I am knowledge them. Language also makes it easier to explain, persuade, argue, and describe ...
