Gaming in Education vs. Traditional Learning

Abstract

In this research paper it is describing the difference between Gaming in education and traditional learning. The game is one of their first languages and one of its first activities, through which knows the world around you including people, objects, their operation and how to handle those close, we cannot exclude the game of education formal. Of course here we must take into account some aspects being that the school is not the same space as the home or a place open game such as the neighborhood where children are playing in their spare time. Traditional games seem to be at risk of disappearing especially in large cities and industrialized areas. We can see on the other hand, there are some resurgence of these games, which are imposed either by a certain time of year or as a fad that comes and goes after a while.

Introduction

Educational games allow students to acquire much more knowledge, including life valuable skills, as compared to most traditional ways of teaching. Because of educational games, the teachers are more able to cover more ground with the lessons that should be taught, students will develop teamwork and motivation, and even help them to practice their problem-solving skills. Beck, Robert H (2009)

Speaking of traditional games we refer to those games, since a long time ago is still enduring, from generation to generation, being transmitted from grandparents to parents and parents to children and so on, perhaps suffering some changes, while maintaining its essence? They are games that are not written in any particular book or can be purchased at any toy store. Beck, Robert H (2009)

Traditional games can be found all over the world. While there will be some differences in the way of game design, in use or in some other aspect, the essence of it remains. Traditional games seem to be at risk of disappearing especially in large cities and industrialized areas. We can see on the other hand, there are some resurgence of these games, which are imposed either by a certain time of year or as a fad that comes and goes after a while. Within the traditional games are a wide range of recreational modalities: children's games and girl games, nursery rhymes, divination games, never-ending stories, rhymes, draw games, toys, etc. Beck, Robert H (2009)
