Discussion

The company has mainly focused on operations in the car and driver hiring market. UBER operates through innovative app technology that enables a customer to view the car and place the order through their mobile phones (Branch, 2009 pp. 150-165). The business procedure of the company starts with the using the mobile app or the messaging service to order the cab. The added features have now enabled the customer to see the location of the cab as it approaches the pick up location. After making an order, the Uber informs customers about the travel distance and estimated arrival time of the driver through an alert. The customer briefs the driver about the destination and hops into the car. After arriving at the destination, Uber charges the fare from the user account details and there is no requirement of paying to the drivers. The company has also developed a partnership with the PayPal so that customers can use that facility to pay for the fare (Baumann, 2013, pp. nd). The payment system of the company is based on the distance and time fare based on the distance covered. The company has also developed a condition that minors cannot make an account on Uber or use it without informing parents in order to avoid any misuse by the children. The company has also insured that the privacy of the users information remains intact, and they are not misused in any form.
