Abstract

The term spirit is difficult to grasp. It can mean the essence of someone, the life force. But it can have a supernatural meaning also. The older term Holy Ghost now conveys, unfortunately, a rather weird supernatural meaning to us, though the term originally meant the same as spirit, as it still does in modern German. The biblical meaning of Holy Spirit or Spirit of God takes on both meanings: of essence and yet of something beyond the natural or physical. The Holy Spirit is the very essence of God, his life force. In Christian theology, he is seen as the third person of the Trinity. God in Jesus has two major goals of our people. First, he wants to come, that all men be saved and to know the truth. This means that they convert to Jesus. Second, he wants to be that those who have converted, so we Christians, Jesus' followers. His successor, but from the Bible means not only that someone follows the outside, but that you should do as a model, in our case, like Jesus, that one lives in his mind, he thinks, ultimately, that in the character traits, so like him! Why we even though the other topics but also important, and perhaps would even be particularly interesting. We want to remind us that we have realized that God in Jesus has two major goals with us: conversion of the world and equipping of the successor. How can this best be achieved? Many Christians have been re-thought about and have come to different conclusions, as the people in the world can see us through Christ.
