Introduction

The project would be initiated in Dee Why Grand Shopping Mall in Dee. This will focus on every kind of fruits available in market, whether seasonal or non-seasonal. Dee Why is 18 km north east of Sydney CBD with population of around 20,000. It has beautiful beach near the Grand. So many visitors come to Dee Why on sunny day which is good for the retail market. There is only one fruit shop which is 5 km away from the Dee Why beach. So peoples around Dee Why have to go 5 km away for shopping for the fresh fruits and vegetables.

Literature Review

The key statistics below show the production of the vegetable and fruits in the country. As it can be analysed from the statistics that there has been heavy production fresh fruits in the country, which are also exported every year. According to the statistics of Horticulture Australia Limited, there has been total production of domestic fresh fruits to 2760 in year 2005, and expected to increase in every year.

Competitive Analysis

Since, the project will be aimed to set up a fruit market business in Dee Why where currently the competitors are not close enough to serve the needs of people related to the consumption of fruits. So, this project will certainly benefit the local residents in many ways. For instance, the other fruit markets are at the distance of 5 Km from Dee Why at hence the travelling cost should also be added into the fruit price. In other words the total cost of fruit would also count the travelling cost to and from the local residency; the travelling distance in total will be 10km in real. Hence, by setting up a business of fruit market in Dee Why will certainly attract the customers to buy the fruit from the local market i.e. the BJC fruit market.

Competitive analysis is very easy in this project, as it has early been researched that there is no any competitor serving the fruits to the local residents in Dee Why. Hence, for BJC fruit market this would also create the first mover advantage in the respective region. Moreover, the local residents will then not have to worry about the fruit market as this will also reduce the travelling fatigue of the buyers. Apart from this, there are other local sellers of the fruits in the region, but they are at the distant apart. Hence, it is clear that the strategy to open up the fruit market business in the Dee Why will not have to face the direct competition in the respective zone.
