Compensation refers to the payment made in the form of cash in cash from the county of the funds belonging to the district, added to any amount subtracted from an employee's income for having a part in the deferred on delayed compensation plan. The pickups that the employer offers are not taken as a part of compensation because they are not paid to the employee as cash.
The average or mean compensation as decided by the panel for a time period to be considered (based on the total averaged days that employees in the same class have worked, taking the same pay for it) is collectively termed as Compensation earnable.
