Introduction

When speaking of free will, one is not typically referring to the freedom to make mundane daily decisions. This discussion of "free will" not concerns with mundane daily choice or decisions believers make. This paper explores the concept of does freewill exist and its fundamental implications for a human from philosophical and religious approaches.

Freewill - Concept Evaluation

In order to understand “free will”, we must first understand the will. What is the will? Most simply, the will is the mechanism by which humans make choices. Human choices made on the basis of preferences, pleasures, loves, affections, delights and desires. Choices may be made with respect to a combination of differing desires (some of which might even be in competition), but all choices ultimately boil down to preference that we choose to find more valuable, enjoyable, pleasurable, etc. We choose what we most desire, what we want, what we “will”. If one wants to know what will be chosen, one simply needs to consider what he or she most prefers or loves.

The concept of “free will” ultimately boils down to a question of desires. What does the human will most desire and do people have free will is to define to whom “we” refer to when making any decision. Man is not as he once was, nor is he as he will always be. “The Bible speaks of the nature of man in four distinct ways, corresponding to four movements of redemptive history: man as created, fallen, regenerate and glorified” (Winter, 2005, p. 14). Freewill is thus power of acting without the constraint of necessity or fate; the ability to act at one's own discretion. Freewill is the capacity, for an independent agent to act in such a way that they may influence the future towards a desired end-state in an on-going process.

Analysis of Freewill Existence Concept

This section illustrates the concept do human beings have freewill. Freewill exists in the system based on the approach people take to explain the implication of their actions. Majority of people finds freewill plausible that we do not just shows how mysterious a rational tangle we have got ourselves into by elaborating the freewill concept. Each era is distinct, and the freedom possessed within each is subsequently distinct. The concept of freewill, elaborated in this paper does not surround having political or economic freedom.
