Introduction

The slave narratives produced in England towards the eighteenth century, but soon became the basis of African American literature. In this paper, it discussed the narratives and works of the Harriet Jacobs, William Lloyd and Frederick Douglass. To present the reality of slavery, a number of early slaves such as Harriet Jacobs, William Lloyd and Frederick Douglass published autobiographical accounts of their situation.
