Introduction

The novel Frankenstein has been written by Mary Shelley published in 1823. It is about unconventional scientist named Victor Frankenstein. The scientist has attempted to develop a bizarre kind of creature through extremely unorthodox scientific methods. This essay aims to evaluate the inspiration of the writer that made him not only think of scientific creature but also used various means to make it possible in the novel. According to Bartlett (pp.n.d), the novel is horror, gothic and romantic. In the novel bounded and stranded Captain Robert Walton has written letters to his sister and shares his encounter with Victor Frankenstein. He helped the captain gain his health. The work and personality of Frankenstein has interested him and he continued to stay with him. The writer has used immensely unconventional ways to imagine a creature or say a monster. This shows his deep and foresighted thoughts about scientific implication in the near future. The question arises if this imagination is even possible to be thought and practised in the future or not. It seems doubtful to think of becoming a scientific monster.

In those times, when the novel was written it was completely out of question to even have thought of certain scientific ways to communicate with each other. The way we are using internet and other biological technologies to help human beings and make advancements was unimaginable at that time. It was indeed a daring thought. Today amputation of different bodies are done, even the heart transplant has become possible. Frankenstein was indeed a scientist and he dared to make experiments although it was a result of series of experiments, yet he handled it well.
