The purpose of writing this blog is to expand the boundaries of author's knowledge by exploring some relevant facts relating Foundation of Paramedic Practice. The learning outocmes that will be assessed in this paper are:
Meets the HPC Paramedic Standards of Proficiency (2007)
Establishes and maintains effective communication with service users and health care pofessionals.
Deliver quality care safely and effectively, using an appropriate repertoire of knowledge and skills, in accordance with the HPC Paramedic Standards of Proficiency (2007) and the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics (2008).
Promote the equality, diversity and rights of individuals and groups, and recognise and challenge inappropriate practice.
Utilises a reflective framework to critically evaluate and develop their practice.
Continue to develop their own professional practice using a range of strategies
In this paper, the author will examine different aspects of guidelines followed in Paramedic Practice.

Article Critique
The article presents the detailed insight of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation with specific information on processes like chest compression and ventilation required by the patient in a cardiac emergency. Lira (2011) has covered a significant point of artificial respiration as no longer important for bystander rescues. As a conformation, Robert et al., (1997) also express their findings on the topic that assisted ventilation does not improve outcome in a porcine model of single-rescuer bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Learning Outcome
The learning outcome from the above article can be summarized as the facts discovered in the context of cardiopulmonary resuscitation meet the HPC Paramedic Standards of Proficiency (2007). This can be concluded as the most prominent strength in this study is that the population provided a true and reliable response on the effectiveness of resuscitation. The primary objective of resuscitation is to restore the heart rhythm and the functioning of the circulatory system. Heart failure is one of the most dangerous complication in which the only immediate and energetic measures help avoid a tragic outcome. It can occur during any surgery, including surgery in the maxillofacial region.

Article Critique
Authors have made a significant contribution in the phenomenon of effectiveness and importance of communication within healthcare profession. The study highlights the fact that communication facilitates patient's self care and management especially in the situation of chronic diseases and illnesses. On the contrary, Charles et al., (2000) say that communicating with patients suffering from long term chronic illnesses is a debatable point as the physician or healthcare provider needs to keep in mind the emotional reactions and counter behavior of the patients.
