Introduction

Every organization, has a separate human resource department, whose primary goal is to select best man for the job, and for that, this department formulate an employee selection program (Augustine et al, 2004). However, certain events like in 2011, a stock trader of a well known investing firm was convicted by federal agency, for indulging in illegal activities like (stealing of private records, fraud and others). Incident, like these have raised concerned about the selection procedure of companies, and each company is striving hard to formulate an employee selection procedure, through which they can identify bad fish from the pool of candidate, and can eliminate them.

Objective of this selection program

The prime objective of implementing this screening program is to select, best man for the organization, by just not minimizing the risk involve in the process of selecting employees, but also identify candidate containing attributes, that could increase the probability of risk for the organization, if hired at the wrong position. In addition to this, this process avert selection of employees lacking required skills, and qualifications, prevent selection of employee, that has been fired by his previous employer because of unfavorable circumstances, and others

Legal aspect of screening

During the selection of candidate, organizations normally come across with two common types of legal problems (Augustine et al, 2004). Firstly, organization can face accountability for showing negligence in selection of candidates, and the second legal trouble organization come across, when employer accidently or intentionally violate candidate privacy. However, organization can manage this legal screening risk, through the following procedure.

It is imperative for the employer to develop a candidate screening process, according to the requirement of job.
