Background

In today's world there has been significant shift in the way companies look towards corporate responsibility. International organizations do not look at these challenges narrowly, especially in terms of brand enhancement and risk mitigation. Now organizations look at these challenges as opportunities for innovation, for enhancing investors, consumer and public relationships. These relationships have direct contribution in the entire sustainability of the business. Sustainability is raising the agendas with the help of governments, media, organizations and public paying attention. The major sustainability issues are economic, environmental and social impact which is made by a company. According to UN Global Compact report of 2010 it is found that 93% of the leading companies take sustainable issues as critical to get success in future (Grobbel, et al 2004).

Companies face challenge in both creating and embedding the management system which can improve and support in the use of resources, positioning of the brand, external engagement and in having long term value. By taking such measures a business can not only improve their standing with their stakeholders but also contribute in the social and economic well being and to continue having profits. By giving trainings to accountants on such issues can help in managing the impact of sustainability on the core business as they are the core business drivers. The main focus of the outside world it to observe that the company reports are meeting the actual sustainable information negatively or positively. It is also important to see that how companies use sustainable information during decision making process in the entire company. The reason behind the importance of mismatch in predicted and actual can have high costs as it was also discovered by BP in 2010. Another main challenge for the organizations is to make sure that before making any strategy they must consider the sustainability risk and opportunities (Stern Review 2006).

In this paper the study will be done on the Ford Company and it will be seen that how strategies are made by FORD in order to get sustainable advantage in the future in the emerging competitive environment. I today's world automobile industry is very much concern about the corporate responsibility and in order to gain competitive advantage they are introducing highly innovative products which are environmental friendly.

Statement of Problem

The statement of problem is to examine the future sustainability of FORD Company in the emerging competitive environment. It is very important for automobile companies to work for sustainability in the business as it is necessary to gain advantage in the emerging competitive market.

Hypothesis

Following are the hypothesis of the study

H1: Ford is practicing and implementing sustainable strategies in the emerging competitive environment

H0: Ford is not practicing and implementing sustainable strategies in the emerging competitive environment.

Purpose statement

The purpose of this research is to analyze the strategies which are adopted for the future sustainability by the Ford Company in the emerging competitive environment.
