Introduction

Sport is a leading cultural event in contemporary societies. The fact that often accompanied explosion of violence is a concern. Special attention is given to the description of these factors and to their potential contribution to the elimination or reduction of violence in sport, a distant but, nevertheless, a worthwhile goal (Spaaji, 2008, pp.369-392).

Discussion

The sport of football in particular has been associated with violence since, according to some authors, began to be practiced in the early thirteenth century England.
