Lobbyism has taken root in the demographic process for many decades the world over. In Washington alone, there are over thirty-five thousand registered lobbyists representing a plethora of businesses and organizations. In fact, it is hardly believed that any sector of American economy is not represented by lobbyists (Dbp.idebate.org, 2010).
