Introduction

Steroids should not be used without a doctor's permission. If abuse, they will wreak havoc, ravaging the mind and body the way locusts devour a field of crops. Like any other Steroid, steroids will make you sick if used improperly. Many of the side effects are irreversible, so if you start abusing the Steroid, your health will decline and your body will suffer permanent damage. Steroids abuse involves the overuse of, dependency on, and/or addiction to nonfood items, natural or synthetic that changes an individual's body and/or mind because of their chemical composition. In general, the steroids, marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine tend to be the most abused substances that often require regimented treatment approaches for successful cessation.

Discussion

Evidence shows that people who mega dose steroids affect the brain and produce changes that show up in people with an addiction. Studies have found that those who use steroids for a long period of time experience cravings, difficulty in quitting, and withdrawal symptoms.

While stimulants increase performance and aggression, there are side effects that can negatively affect performance as well. These side effects include apprehension, tetchiness, dependence, heart palpitations, atypical heart rhythms, weight loss, mild hypertension, phantasms, convulsion, brain hemorrhages, heart attack, and further circulatory tribulations (Cafri, 2006).

Classification Entail

Steroids are similar to hormones; the chemicals produced in the human body that control its metabolism the processes that take place in the body. The steroids that are most often abused are those based on male sex hormones, such as testosterone, which are produced primarily in the tests. These steroids are responsible for the development of male characteristics, such as facial hair and large muscles.
