Introduction

Project management is the way of organizing, planning, controlling and motivating resources in order to achieve desired goals. Project management plays a vital role in the success of the project. If the management is not good, then there is a probability of its failure and the other efforts are considered as waste of time. The main challenge of project management is to get all the desired goals of the project while considering the pre defined constraint. The main constraint includes time, scope, budget and quality (Yer, Visser, 2004).

Strong project management practices ensure the success of the project (Stamp, 2006).

Discussion

The project is designed for the purpose of securing the company's data and information from different threats and vulnerabilities. The information and data base of any company is always at a high risk of data theft and illegal authorization to the confidential information. The main purpose of information security management is to guarantee the business continuity and minimizes the business damage by reducing and preventing the impact of different security mishaps. Poor management of staff and lack of appropriate procedures are the main reason behind security incidents. Organizations which are highly dependent on the information systems are at high risk of security threats and vulnerabilities. In order to resolve these security threats a project of information security was designed by the team (Attarzadeh, and Ow, 2008).

Project Scope

Information security system has a wide scope in organizations as well as in institutions, in order to save their confidential information. Information security systems are designed to secure the print, electronic and other confidential and private information. It is designed to prevent the confidential and private information and data from illegal access, destruction, modification and disruption. Several threats, regarding confidential information, are faced by organizations. In this situation, this project plays a vital role in order to secure data from unauthorized access and discloser (Attarzadeh, and Ow, 2008).

This project has a great importance for the organization where the security of information is highly needed. Information security system is recommended to large businesses as well as to small organizations in order to secure their information. It is highly needed in institutions, banks, hospitals as well as in large business organizations (Stamp, 2006).

Planning of the Project

One of the most important tasks before starting any project is planning. The project planning refers to the aims and objectives of the project. It includes all the working procedures of the project, defining all the goals and ways to achieve those goals. This includes that how the project and work will be managed in order to get desired targets. The planning of the project includes the scope of the project, team, estimate required for the completion of the project, market value of the project and the outcomes of the project (Attarzadeh, and Ow, 2008).

Resources in the Project

Resources in a project are considered as sources of support or supply including people, money, technology, material and space. For this project, various resources were required including project managers, system developers, system analysts, system ...
