The production of the play A Midsummer Night's Dream was in the year 1999 by an American film director. It is the adaptation of one of Shakespeare's finest plays. The collaborative cast features of the movie are Bottom was played by Kevin Kline, Michelle Pfeiffer as Titania and Rupert Everett as Oberon. Whereas, the four lovers were Calista Flockhart, Anna Friel, Christian Bale, and Dominic who also played major roles in the film. The play is five times adapted by the film makers.

Plot of “A Midsummer's Night's Dream”

In a place in Italy, with the name of Monte Athena the young lovers Lysander and Hermia, played by Dominic West and Anna Friel respectively try to elope in the forest. The lovers do this so as to seepage the stern orders from Hermia's father. Hermia's father clearly ordered that she has to get betrothed to Demetrius (played by Christian Bale). Demetrius is another young lad who is in love with Hermia. The young man Demetrius followed the two lovers, he came to know about elope plan from Helena (played by Calista Flockhart). In the play, lady Helen, who is a young woman is madly in love with Demetrius. Once the two couples are in the woods, they walk in the fairy land. This fairy land is governed by King Oberon and his Queen Titania (played by Rupert Everett and Michelle Pfeiffer respectively). The King and his queen are two fighting local gods ruling the fairy land. In the fairly land, King Oberon along with his servant fairy Puck (Routledge & Kegan, 1959) (played by Stanley Tucci) creates mayhem in the four lovers. The story further leads with a magic potion, which causes both Lysander, along with Demetrius to fell madly in love with Helena. Climax of “A Midsummer Night's Dream”

Later, King Oberon with the magic potion bewitches Queen Titania. The magic potion reacts causing the queen to fell in dear with Nick Bottom, who is an amateur actor and a local weaver (played by Kevin Kline).
