Abstract

The paper highlights the meaning and conception of Female Circumcision, which describes its consequences and initial formation from few religious trends. It has been estimated by many of the organization in the US that mentioned the statistics ratio of female circumcision in the world and most in the African Americans. Female circumcision is the practice which is unethical and nonreligious attempt which is executing by most of the people having backward thinking. The international community took some steps to maintain the balance among human rights and religious beliefs. This practice is being followed by most of the people in the world. The dual concept of opinion concerning the practice creates clash in the international community and to the custom of female circumcision. Introduction

Female Circumcision is one of the most political areas of women's health. Globally, it has been assumed that around 120 million women have been victimized to this unethical practice. The people who support this practice believed that it is essential in the religious and cultural life and few of them believe that male circumcision is more extensively accepted in the West. As the matter of fact, it is believed by opponents that this practice is a harsh form of women oppression. Female Circumcision is also known as female genital cutting, which is determined by the WHO “World Health Organization”. The phenomenon explains that the procedure involves total or partial removal of female external genitalia for no medical reason is known as Female genital mutilation (FGM). The process usually carried out on those girls who are few days old to puberty.

Discussion Analysis

The Female Circumcision practice or traditional female genital surgery is a controversial and complex issue. Few of them considered as a human violation and other considers as an integral part of cultures, which cannot be challenged. In the last decade, more than 30,000 Africans entered in the United States, in which American clinicians are confronted with meeting the needs of African women's health, as they are bombarded with a debate about the politics and ethics of circumcision. The practice of female circumcision takes place in hospitals and usually carried out without anesthesia in traditional circumciser by using a razor, knife and scissors. It has been acknowledged by (WHO) that female circumcision is practiced in twenty eight countries in eastern, western and north eastern in Africa, in Europe, Australasia and North America (World Health Organization, 2008).

The WHO estimates that around 140 million girls and women in the world have experienced this process, in which the 92 million is belonged to African women. It is also carried out in few countries who believe that it reduces the libido in women.
