Introduction

The U.S history is filled with a number of historical events and key persons, in order to signify and analyze the research paper, I have selected Ulysses S. Grant 'the 18th President of United States'. He was famous for his highlighted role in the historical Civil war. Grant as the President of United States and holds the president's office for 8 years i.e. from (1869 - 1877)before the president ship he served as the commanding General of the Army for and remained in the office for 4 years.

Achievements

Grant has achieved a number of remarkable achievement . he is the right candidate for both the offices i.e. Presidency and the other one is commanding general of Army. He has served both the office very well in a manner that during his tenure he passed 15th amendment . according to this amendment the African Americans who are not given their equal rights, would now have the voting rights option and for the first time in the history they are allowed to represent in the U.S Congress. His image gains the position of an ideal when he refuse to accept the inflation bill.

Personal & Family Life

Grant was born in Ohio in 1822 and his father was in business of making leather. At the age of 17, grant step in to the world of politics, where he started acting as a member of Congress and begin to act as a member of Republican Party. Grant was a family men, he and his wife Julia Dent has four children Jesse , Ulysses, Nellie and Fredrick. He was a Methodist by religion. Grant died at the age of 63 in 1885 at New York.
