Introduction

Dr. Jerry Pipes is an internationally recognized speaker. He has also written four books, produced numerous booklets, and created many processes to aid in the evangelistic presentation. The second author of Family to Family is Victor Lee. Lee has been a professional writer for 22 years. He regularly contributes to and edits for a number of Christian publications. Lee is the pastor of Single Adults and Evangelism in Knoxville, Tennessee. Pipes and Lee say up front that the book is about how families can find biblical purpose in the fast-past business of living. To this end Pipes and Lee's book is chock full of practical advice to help make your family Christ-centered.

The advice throughout the book is practical and thorough. Pipes and Lee provide lots of practical helps for making sure the Christian parent is prepared to evangelize and disciple their own child. Vines and Lee get very specific about evangelistic possibilities. They even provide an advertisement for the extremely effective Jesus video. In some areas there are worksheets that force you to think for yourself. In addition to the great advice given within each chapter, at the end of each they provide sections filled with family building activity ideas.

Dr. Jerry Pipes, President of Jerry Pipes Production and staff member of the North American Mission Board, has traveled extensively as a public speaker in churches, crusades and conferences both in America and internationally. Dr. Jerry has published a number of books. His works include books such as Family to Family, and Becoming Complete. In addition, Dr. Jerry has also written a number of booklets on mission work. The author received his bachelor's degree in science from Texas A&M University. He completed his masters from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, whereas D. Min. from Luther Rice Seminary. Paige and Josh are the two children, which Dr. Pipes and Debra (his wife) have.

On the other hand, the second author of the book, Victor Lee, has more than twenty years of experience as a regular staff writer for various Christian publications. He entered full-time ministry in 1995 and offers his services to First Baptist Concord, Knoxville, TN as the minister of Single Adults and Evangelism. Furthermore, the author is a Sports Evangelism Consultant, serving the North American Mission Board. He also works as a columnist for Sports Spectrum magazine; and a board member of Sports Outreach America, the International Sports Federation, and His Passion Ministries. Lee is married to Judy and has a daughter along with three foster children.

In Family to Family, Lee and Pipes uses the Word of God as a basis from which to portray healthy families where (1) members spend quality time together, (2) each family member is pledged to each other and to the family as a unit, (3) mom and dad are equally involved in raising their children, (4) the importance of each member is found in Jesus, (5) faith is passed to succeeding generations, (6) and where family members are jointly involved in fulfilling ...
