Introduction

Durkheim's early writings contributed some terms that scholars have used to study religions. An example is the term anomie. It refers to the social and moral disorder that arises when traditional social forms break down. However, Durkheim's most important book for the study of religions appeared later: The Elementary Forms of the Religious Life (1912). The Elementary Forms starts with the idea that totemism and taboo in Australia are the most basic forms of religion. Although this idea is no longer accepted, other ideas in Durkheim's system have proven very useful. Durkheim proposed that religion serves to bind individuals to society. It does so, he says, because religious symbols, such as totems and gods, along with religious rules objectify and represent society and its values. Therefore, religious rituals actually celebrate human society (Nielsen, 1999, pp. 89).

Overview of the problem

There is a huge duration which has been spent to overcome the original problem of sociology. Before going further, it was indeed necessary to know what are the ties that bind men together, that is to say what determines the formation of social aggregates. That's what we wondered. To address this, psychology was not enough because there are different kinds of social solidarity due to different types of companies. It was therefore necessary to cater to a classification of the latter. If the current state of information was complete and had detailed classification, it could not be termed as arbitrary, as demonstrated by all such attempts, at least it was possible to establish with certainty two major social types which all societies past and present are only varieties. There are many people who distinguished the one hand companies or unorganized, as they said, because of the range from amorphous horde of kin to the city, and the other states that begin themselves towards the city and for the big finish contemporary nations. Then the analysis of these two social types showed us two very different forms of social solidarity, one which is due to the similarity of conscience, to the community of ideas and feelings, the other hand, is a Product differentiation which is an element of the division of labor. As a result of the first, the spirits are united in mingling, getting lost, so to speak into each other, to form a compact mass which is not only capable of group movements. Under the influence of the second, as a result of mutual dependence where the specialized functions, has as its own sphere of action, while being inseparable from the other. As, it reminds people more solidarity which binds together the parts of higher animals, they called it organic and booked for the previous qualification of mechanisms.
