Fallacies and Disobedience in Islam

Thesis Statement

As Islamic law is not a static corpus of legal rules, and as there are also interpretations which disprove the reality of a duty to obedience, it is impossible to compare our Mednin decision with 'the' sharia.

Fallacies of Islam

The word Islam, which means “surrender,” is related to the Arabic word salaam, or “peace.” Islam as a religion means “submission to the will of God.” It stands in a long line of Abrahimic religious traditions that share an uncompromising monotheism. (Atiya, 321) Ancient religious texts like the Koran comprise outdated ethical concepts. The Old Testament has brutal laws and brutal passages. As a result Christians and Jews don't pursue them. Muslims are the same as Christians and Jews; they choose what works and decline what doesn't work. Why should Islam be considered any worse than other belief or cult? The short answer is that Islam is not similar to any thing else, encompassing religions such as Christianity. As far as the Koran having any outdated ethical concepts, that is impossible. According to Islamic doctrine, the Koran is flawless, eternal and universal. It does not comprise the slightest mistake since contains the accurate words of Allah. Hence, it can not ever be outdated.

There is a large hazard in seeking to understand Islam through Christianity or any other Western concept or concept. The inherent assumption is that Islam is similar or has parallels to kafir culture. This means that Islam does not require to be studied, because it is "like" some kafir notion or institution such as flexibility and Christianity. This concept is false and has no supporting facts to verify it.
