Abstract

There are obvious economic disparities between developing and developed countries that show a way towards a dissimilar behavior amongst such countries in terms of the different determinants of the flows of bilateral trade. Though, numerous authors have put their considerations on the determinants of the different trade patterns, but it still needs some more research for a better comprehension that what goods will be more successful to be traded internationally and with which countries by the United States. In this research paper, there will be some deep exploration of the concerns that are related with import/export. Some of the specific areas that will be focused here are the specification of cultural determinants that are the most significant for approaching a decision about whether to carry out business activities in that specific country or not. Secondly, there will be a discovery of the specification about the compliance management, government, and security requirements of the specific country that would be significant to the decision of conducting business. Thirdly, there will be some actions created that would be helpful for initiating the activities of import/export in that specific country. Finally, some useful recommendations will be offered that would be benefited for streamlining the business commencement by means of resources and private as well as governmental assistances in that specific country. Thus, developing and developed countries countenance different economic factors and all of those play a distinctive role in the augmentation of the activities of import/export

Introduction As, in the assignment 1, it has been already discussed that from the perspective of the United States how a country could be viable for the activities of export and import, and also the concepts regarding export and import has been cleared through that assignment. Now, in this research paper, there will be some deep exploration of the concerns that are related with import/export. This paper will focus on the US for carrying out the activities of import/export.

International trade has gone through a significant rise in the previous decades. Feenstra suggest a number of factors that elaborate this rise which are consisted of decreasing costs of transportation, liberalization of trade, countries' economic convergence, and the rise of trading of intermediate goods (Feenstra, 1998). In this regard, some other authors have also analyzed the factors that are necessary for augmenting the trading activities in an international market (Baier & Bergstrand, 2001).

Important Cultural Determinants in US for Import/Export

Cultural adherence whether chosen, imposed or inherited, influences the activities of import/export in a country. Some of the layers of culture are language, religion, ethnic background, artistic interests, and ideological orientation across national borders.
