Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of Wellness Coaching Training Program in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on the effectiveness of this program and its relation with development of the skills in individual. The research also analyzes many aspects of wellness coaching training program and tries to gauge its effect on the participant's behavior and productivity. Finally the research describes various impacts which are highlighted by this program and the significant changes which are highlighted in the contributors.

Introduction

Health and wellness coaching is the medical approach towards mind and body. Wellness programs are designed to protect the health of workers and to ensure better working conditions, as well as organizational development and culture. Such programs have a positive impact on the safety and health of workers, increase health awareness, which contributes to the lifestyle changes of employees like quitting smoking or alcohol, change in diet, increased physical activity. Promotion of Health in the company influences the positive climate in teams and efficient operations, which in turn leads to increased productivity (Swarbrick, 2012).

Based on numerous studies and experiments it was noted that the well-being of employees has a beneficial effect on performance, as well as an increase in staff morale and loyalty to the employer. So began to implement corporate wellness programs that include a variety of activities:

Background of the Research

Health and wellness coaching is a holistic, mind and body approach to medicine. In the view of wellness coaching, good health is a source of balance between physical and mental well being. In this training, participants are asked to evaluate their health today, and where they want themselves to be, and the coaches assess them in achieving their vision by finding the strength within them to make necessary changes (The New Teacher Project, 2011). Hence, this program focuses on motivation, builds in self confidence, teaches self management skills and provides guidance to achieve the desired health. Coaches and the participants meet prior to the activation of the training, build a relationship with each other and participants set their own goals and make their own plan of achieving their preferred health. This research paper will evaluate the qualitative research on the wellness coaching training program and the extent to which skills, knowledge and attitudes are acquired during the curriculum.
