Introduction

The curriculum responds to: What is sound knowledge? How to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes? How to evaluate achievement of competencies? Competencies are a combination of knowledge, skills and attitudes conducive to proper and timely performance of a task in the field of health sciences. Some are basic; allow acting responsibly ensuring compliance of professional practice. Models for integrated skills training seek to generate high-quality processes. This involves promoting actions that involve real changes in teaching practice with a dynamic approach to the reality of the world around them. This can only be undertaken if the participants take an active role in their learning. Competition is an integrated combination of knowledge, skills and attitudes that are conducive to a proper and timely performance of a task in the field of health sciences (Kelly, 2004, 65). The term competence can then be defined generally as a "know-how about something with certain attitudes", i.e., as a measure of what a person can do either as a result of the integration of knowledge, skills, attitudes and personal qualities.

The term curriculum refers to the practical nature of all competition. To find out if someone is competent is essential to observe. No one is competent when one only knows how "to do", but when it is done effectively and adequately. Secondly, the definition refers to something that is known to do which is the content of the competition. There have been innovations in tab teaching methods in the field of medicine. Such changes exert pressures on the curriculum design to implement the learning methods that best suit the competencies of the participants and serve to deal with health issues. Discussion

The hospital chosen for curriculum assessment and design is the national Trauma centre. It is one of the major medical teaching institutions. For every Trauma fatality in UK, about two people inflict permanent and severe injuries. Currently, variable research into trauma care means that the advances are not always shared across the national health centre. The aim of NHS is to establish a centre for trauma research can be undertaken, and knowledge can be translated into real improvement in care for all patients (Goodson, 2004, 59). The dedication of the medical staff is commendable; however, ether is no specialized nurses in orthopaedic nursing which creates a lack of knowledge and care from the part of medical staff. To improve this situation, the curriculum will help in identifying the significant learning areas and expertise necessary to teach the medical staff important knowledge with respect to orthopaedic nursing.
