This paper is based on the inferences form a short story “A Rose for Emily” by William Fulkner and a movie “Psycho”, directed by Alfred Hitchcock. There is a similarity in the mental approach between the two artists and the audience is overwhelmed by the uncertainty of presented consequences. It is very difficult to predict future events and both the stories ends is a similar fashion, where the audience or readers are unable to express their curiosity and inquisitiveness.
