Introduction
Sickle Cell Disease is common in Hispanic population. Sickle cell anemia (also known as the sickle cell disease, is a serious life threatening anemia, show a significant subpopulation of people that are chronically ill, whose illness considerably impacts their psychological, physical and social health from the days of early childhood through adulthood (Steinberg, 1999). Nursing staff play a vital role to provide care to such patients through the period of acute phases of their diseases as well as more importantly in facilitating them in achieving the optimum level of well being.
