Introduction

This paper intends to discuss the essence of ethics and society. To live a prosperous life and to excel in the society; it remains extremely important for the human beings to act ethically. However, there are always hindrances to act ethically. These hindrances are normally created by either systems or people in order to make people motivate to get engaged in unethical activities due to various underlying reasons. Propaganda is essentially assumed to be one of the most significant aspects which usually results in the involvement of people in unethical activities. There are various definitions to propaganda. The most important definition of propaganda is as 'the deliberate and systematic attempt to shape perceptions, manipulate cognitions and direct behaviour to achieve a response that furthers the desired intent of the propagandist.' Propaganda as defined above is one of the most important aspects that can be utilized to impact the way people thing, behave and even response to certain activities going around.

Such propagandas are normally witnessed within the field of politics every now and then. However, there are propagandas in almost every other field. For instance, the field of media is blamed to create propagandas in order to shape biased perceptions. This paper will define propaganda in detail in relation with Public Relations and Public Affairs Practitioners. The main focus of the paper will revolve around the manner in which propagandas are employed by EU governments, along with other important lobby groups during the current economic or political crisis. The purpose of this paper is to make the reader aware about the significance of propagandas to the real world life through depicting contemporary examples of politically motivated propaganda campaigns. Also, the paper will shed a light over the different ethical probity of such propaganda campaigns.
