Introduction:

With the advent of communication satellites, life has become much different from what it used to be before. Now all news, events and happenings just take seconds to revolve around the world, and a number of stories that would have remained hidden otherwise are now revealed; thanks to the media of mass communication. It is due to the same reason that ethical issues are fast gaining popularity and fame these days, and all the positive and negative ones directly received by the public. The piece of literature, an article, discussed below also deals with an ethical issue, which gained mush popularity and fame more than a decade back and bought about a cheerful touch to the otherwise gloomy and cynical world.

Part I:

An Overview:

The TV series House, (also known as House, M.D.) is an American drama that deals with the medical profession. The characters of the drama form a team of diagnosticians, headed by an uncontroversial and misanthropic medical genius Dr. Gregoy House. The head of the team often finds him in conflict with the other members, who too are experts in their fields, with the reason being the controversial and delicate insight of Dr. House and his hypothesis regarding the reasons of illness of the patients.

Starting in 2004, the TV series has run eight seasons so far, and is rated among top ten TV series of America.

Reasoning for selection of TV Series:

The TV series was selected by me because it gives a different and unique view of looking at things, and the peculiar and different insight of Dr. House adds color and significance to the series. The Dr., though presenting some controversial and not generally acceptable hypothesis regarding the illness of patients remains the centre of attention, particularly due to his outstanding genius and the peculiarity of idea. It is human nature that everything that is different from routine gains more attention and appraisal, and same is the case with Dr. House's ideas and hypothesis. Though often causing him great deal of criticism and cynicism from his colleagues, his hypothesis are generally different from the routine ideas and reflects his extreme genius and immense knowledge.

Portrayal of morality:

The TV series presents a different and distinct view, opposing the general medical shows and TV series, where Dr. House and his team are working for a noble cause, for analyzing the symptoms and presenting the solutions, and thus there is portrayal ...
