Introduction

Paradigm has shifted regarding the involvement and participation of children for social research purposes. Children are now viewed as more inclusive beings for social research rather than objects used in research processes. The move came in the wake of UN conventions on the Rights of Child, 1989; Children's Act of 2004 and, introduction of New Social Studies of Childhood (James et al., 1998).
