Identifying Facts

It is considered that the reason for the arising of any ethical issue is the lacking of sufficient evidence or information along with showing disagreement regarding the facts (Husted, J. H., & Husted, G. L. 2008). In the process of ethical decision making, the first step is known as the obvious call to identify the facts. This could help in solving at the least a few conflicts and thus setting the stage in others for effective process. The primary question of the process is to ask the question to highlight the basic ethical issue which has incurred and has been identified. In the current case, the lack of attention of Martina would be considered as the primary ethical issue.

Medical indicators

Asking about the health care program of the patient or a group of them as well their diagnosis and prognosis.

Identifying the goals of intervention or treatment for the particular patient or groups of patients.

In the present situation, Martina came across a patient who was diagnosed and the result highlighted the patient not to be fed or nil by mouth. Martina failed to realize this and tried to feed the patient via his mouth. Omar intervened before the care of the patient was compromised.
