Estrogens and the Change in Female Physiology and Skin

Introduction

Human body if the most complex and the complicated one among all living beings and it would not be wrong to say that it is a living miracle: the complexities of the systems and the precision of placement of different organs at the right place, provide the practical example of perfect structure and finest organization. There are a number of systems operating within the human body side by side, and are playing their part in assisting the normal functioning of human body. It is eminent to mention here that the systems are not just limited to the organs and the organ systems, but the endocrine systems, that are responsible for production of hormones, also hold significance as well as importance in maintaining the proper functioning of body. Several researches and experiments have shown that mal-functioning of any one of these systems results in inability of the body to deal with the daily processes easily and properly, thus highlighting the need for having proper maintenance of all the systems and of the body. The following paragraphs would highlight the importance of Estrogen (female reproductive hormone produced by the endocrine system) and would also highlight the various uses as well as purpose of this hormone:

Discussion

The endocrine system

The endocrine system is mainly composed of several ductless glands, which are present within the human body and are responsible for the production of hormones within particular and specific organs. In order to access and understand the basic purpose of endocrine glands, it can be said that they are basically the messengers that travel in the bloodstream and reach various organs, where they deliver the message and ensure execution of particular orders. Thus, the endocrine system is composed of the system of messengers that carry messages from one part of the body to another and cause the organs to act accordingly. It is eminent to mention here that most of the body processes and functions are taking place because of these hormones, and these make sure that the homeostasis is maintained within our body (Bernbaum, et al, 2008). In addition, the same hormones also ensure that the body is responding to various external stimuli in normal fashion, for instance temperature. In addition, the production of offspring and the performance of basic functions and processes of life are also regulated by the production of the endocrine glands.

Different glands are secreting various hormones to serve particular purpose, thus highlighting the fact that the endocrine system is as organized and as any other system and holds equal importance as well. The name of the endocrine glands, come from the term 'endo', which means that the secretions of these glands are within human body. It is eminent to mention here that two basic types of hormones are produced by the endocrine system: the steroidal hormones and the non- steroidal hormones. Moreover, the endocrine system us being operated on the principle of feedback: all the glands ...
