Introduction

Charlotte's Web is a children's novel, written by American author Elwyn Brooks White, the first time in 1952 in the publishing house HarperCollins appeared. The book tells the story of the companionship of a pig named Wilbur with a spider named Charlotte. This is a fiction story actually with unrealistic characters. The illustrations were made Garth Williams. Charlotte's Web EB White's second novel was, according to Stuart Little (1945) (Nodelman, 1985, pp.109-127). Charlotte's Web, with over 45 million copies of the best-selling children's book of all time and is considered a classic. It won several awards and was established in 1973 under the title Zuckermann's Farm - Wilbur in luck, in 2003 as a pig Wilbur's great adventure, and 2006 under the name of Charlotte's friends filmed. The plot of Charlotte's web is about a runt which was about to be killed, but Fern saved it. She saved the runt and asked her father to adopt that runt and to rename him as Wilbur (Serafini, 2012, pp.457-459).

Discussion

Children's literature contributes to social, emotional and cognitive development, because the stories are full of emotions, feelings and sensations. Over the years, education has endeavored to contribute to the formation of an individual critic, responsible and active in society, considering that we live in a society where social exchanges happen quickly, either through reading, writing, of oral or visual. The book begins when John sow a litter piglet brings to the world (McGillis, 2013).

One of the piglets is puny and smaller than the other, and Arable makes a decision to kill it. But fern (who was a younger daughter) begs him to let the animal live. The father of Fern allows remote to keep the pig as a pet. They are the active and adventurous pig named “Wilbur”. After a few weeks Wilbur is sold to Homer Zuckerman, who was uncle of Ferns. Homer Zuckerman. Although Fern comes to see him in the yard of her uncle as often as they can, to Wilbur feels lonely from day to day. Finally he hears and sees the gray spider Charlotte, who offered him their friendship.

Wilbur soon becomes a member of the animal community that the basement of Zuckerman's barn inhabited. When the old sheep told Wilbur that he would Christmas be killed and eaten, he asks Charlotte for help. Charlotte gets the idea, words in her power to weave, and so Wilbur as an exceptional pig, terrific and radiant (Carrington, 2012, pp.87-90), praise, hoping to prevent the slaughter. The plan succeeds with the help of greedy rat Templeton, Wilbur and remains not only alive, but gets into the company of Charlotte on the fairground, where he wins a prize. But Charlotte, who has reached the end of their natural life span, dies during the carnival after it has laid some eggs (Serafini, 2012, pp.457-459).
