Environmental Regulations by Ontario Ministry of Environment
Introduction
The environment development is an attempt to integrate economic development policy-making and environmental considerations. It encompasses an acknowledgment that millions of people worldwide still live in poverty; that there is continued unequal access to the resources needed for a decent livelihood; and that there is a need for economic growth and that many human activities, including the quest for survival, put a strain on the environment. The natural environment consists of four main components that are connected and closely related to the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere, and biosphere. This group of natural elements is always seeking to achieve a state of balance through constant change. However, human activities have a significant impact of this change in the rate and quality, in some cases positively and negatively in most cases.
Canada was the first country that signed the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the ozone layer of the planet in June 1986. In 1995-97, the UN called Canada the best country in the world for human habitation. Over the past three years, the Ontario government has assisted more than 2,000 projects to eliminate risks to local drinking water sources and, in particular by the inspection and upgrading of more than 1,000 facilities tanks and the closure or by upgrading more than 480 wells, the concerned agencies are ensuring the safe and proper supply of drinking water. Such measures help prevent water contamination. In addition, they help protect this precious resource for the families of Ontario and they will continue to have access to ...
