Introduction

There are a lot of individuals in our contemporary society that we respect and look up to. Most of the times, these individuals are affluent and highly successful. Several individuals make it big; a number of individuals make it bigger while very few individuals make it the biggest. Those individuals who make it to the top become famous personalities and are appreciated and recognized for their entrepreneurship. An ideal case of this would be Steve Jobs and Bill Gates who are two of the most renowned entrepreneurs in the world. Technology has been revolutionized by these two legendary entrepreneurs. They have transformed the world by inventing and modernizing computers and the way we look and use them in the contemporary world (Charles, 1986).

Bill Gates

Almost all of us are familiar with the name of Microsoft Corporation. This name has brought revolution and transformed not only businesses but just about every aspect of our lives. And the name behind this organization is none other than Bill gates who is the co founder, Chairman, and Chief Software Architect Microsoft Corporation. This is the reason why many believe Bill Gates to be the greatest business leader of this generation. Even though this statement may be disproved by a lot of people, yet nobody can deny the fact that he is a phenomenon that just cannot be removed from the history of most successful international businesses (Charles, 1986).

Early Life

Bill Gates was born in Seattle, Washington. His father William H. Gates, Sr. was a prominent lawyer and his mother Mary Maxwell Gates served on the board of directors for First Interstate BancSystem and the United Way. His parents were of English, German, and Scotch Irish descent. He has an elder sister, Kristi (Kristianne), and one younger sister, Libby. His parents had a career in the field of law, in mind for him early on in his life (Charles, 1986).

He enrolled in an exclusive preparatory school, named Lakeside School, at the age of 13. He was given an exemption from attending math classes to pursue his interest which was programming the GE system in BASIC. His first computer program, an implementation that permitted users to play tic tac toe against the computer, was written by him on the same machine. He was captivated by the continuous perfect execution of the software code of the machine. He and his fellows sought time on various systems, after the Mothers Club donation was exhausted.
