An interview was taken Alexandra Burke, who is a British R&B and pop recording artist. She gained fame after she won the fifth series of British television series, which is known as The X Factor. In the interview, she talks about “Haiti and the suffering which the people are going through. She mentions that it will be hard, but she was the one who insisted she has been telling her neighbours since two weeks that she wanted to go to Haiti. By saying this, her point was to raise awareness and help the people of Haiti. Burke thinks that this is important because there is still a lot of suffering in Haiti and the people need help to regain what they had previously, before the earthquake.”

The common ones use alphabets that are phonetic, this is a branch of linguistics that consist of the study of sounds which are used in human speech and the sign language that is used by the people to convey the message. The physical properties of sounds of speech are highlighted by these symbols. During the time Burke was talking about Haiti and the fact that awareness needs to be created, she stressed on the words and she used her hands to stress on the importance of what was saying in the interview (Elton 2006, pp.10).
