A CNC router gantry is shown below. The gantry weighs 60kg and the machining head weighs 20kg.

In order to machine a part the tip must exert a downwards force of 250N. The gantry is supported

by two rails (pin joints) that are free to rotate. Calculate the following:

a) The reaction forces at A and B when the machining head is machining along the centreline of

the gantry.

b) The reaction forces at A and B when the machining head is machining at its maximum side
