Effective Use Of Energy Resources As Important Societal Goal: Case Study Of Scotland

Introduction

The production of energy in many sector, that is residential, domestic, commercial as well as transport has given rise to the concept of renewable energy. This has made impact on the economical, social, technical and political scenarios of all the nations. The natural resources that are being utilized for the development of the renewable energy have been modified in past many years. Scotland has been suffering from the energy crises since past many years and has also given rise to the development of the policies and strategies that contributes to the effective use and application of energy in different sectors.

Discussion

From the past researches, it has been found that consumption of energy and fuel in Scotland as compared to many other regions is higher when compared to many other region of the world. There are many reasons for the higher rate of consumption in Scotland. The consumption of fuel and other energy resources is higher in Scotland when compared to other sector like domestic and industrial basically due to cold climate. Energy crises, as in many other regions have also effected the price of the fuel that is being delivered in the public as well as industrial sectors (Enviros, 2000, pp. 121).

The factor sustainability for any country is highly dependent on sustainable usage of energy and the fuel. Therefore, the decline has been observed in 2009 as a result of global recession and reflects the temporary impact of the global recession on energy demand rather than a structural shift in energy efficiency. Similarly there has been fall in the green house emission to about 7% by the year of 2008 (DEEC Annual Report, 2009).

Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has presented and data in o5rder to evaluate the energy crises in different regions of the world. From the results the has been drastic shift in the factors that effect the consumption of energy and the factors that are assumed to impact on the energy crises in the next few years. Residential, commercial, industrial and transportation sector are four major regions that consumes energy to the greatest level in Scotland. DECC data was produced in order to analyze the consumption of fuel on Government Office Region and Local Authority level. Following is the division for the consumption of fuel in the region Scotland.

From the data and the analysis, it has been found that largest sector consumption in Scotland is industrial and commercial sectors. Bt f4rim the analysis of the data has been found that the trend in the region has changed I the past few years. This change depends on the following main reasons. These tends has been published by the government of Scotland Consultation on the Energy Efficiency Action Plan for Scotland (DEEC Annual Report, 2009).
