Introduction

The exponential rising costs have a direct and detriment impact on the profit and loss statements of the building residents and owners. The heating, ventilation as well as the air conditioning of any commercial buildings would have greater consumptions of the energy as well as different types of other activities. Based over different types of studies and researches that are being done in this concern it is found that the equipments of heating, ventilation and air conditioning consume as much as 40 percent of the building's energy consumption. This assignment provides the overview of the processes of heat, ventilation and air conditioning, also referred to as HVAC systems which are primarily based on active electrical and mechanical systems which are employed in the infrastructures to provide the thermal organizing, the drawbacks of HVAC systems and a detailed analysis of Renewable Energy Systems. The control and management of the thermal surrounding is major objective of all populated or occupied buildings. The concept of thermal regulation and control expectations was considered as a source to ensure survival in extreme weathers. However, in the contexts of modern architecture, the thermal management goes far beyond the survival and implies the involvement of complex thermal comfort systems and concerns of air quality that influences the health, satisfaction and efficiency of occupants.

HVAC System

HVAC system comprises of three primary elements: a heating system which is designed to control the flow of thermal energy into a building or a space in order to maintain a predefined range of temperature that would be impossible to maintain in the absence of a heating system due to the effects of heat losses to the external environment. The system for ventilation is designed to control the inflow and outflow of air from an environment, keeping the temperature of the air constant. The purpose of a cooling system, contrary to the heating system is to remove the heat energy from an environment which could not be maintained in the absence of cooling system due to the heat gain from the external environment and interior sources.

HVAC systems enjoy primary importance in the architectural designing efforts of any structure because of four main reasons. The first reason to be accommodated in the design of a HVAC system is the substantial requirement of volume or space by these systems for proper generating and distributing elements.
