Employment-At-Will Doctrine

Introduction

Organizational behavior can be defined as the way of understanding the behavior of employees of any organization. It also seeks to identify ways in which individuals can act more effectively. Organizational behavior helps entrepreneurs observe the behavior of individuals in the organization and facilitates the understanding of the complexity of the interpersonal relationships in which people interact (Robbins & Judge, 2012).

The major task of this paper is to explain organizational behavior and explore its role to influence employee attitudes, behavior, and performance. Researchers believe that employees will respond, in kind, to the treatment they receive from the organization. It is also important to know that organizations can influence the attitudes, behavior, and performance of employees by attending to the relationships that develop between employees and the organization (Champoux, 2010). Therefore, all the issues related to organizational behavior will be discussed in detail.

Skills, Competence, and Abilities

No doubt, competency level of employees can have the significant effect on the company`s success, but training and development plays a most important role to keep them on track and enhance their skills (Hellriegel & Slocum, 2010). It is a fact that most of the companies expect everything out of the technical skills of their employees and invest enough to enhance these skills. However, there are some other areas that every management should also consider. The role of interpersonal and intellectual skills cannot be avoided in this regard as these skills are required for effective management and leadership. No doubt, Jennifer has been trained many times, but she is still unable to learn things. This shows that she has a significant deficiency in her interpersonal skills that does not allow her to learn things with a learning attitude.

Researchers agree that leadership can be seen as a guiding way that enables leaders to transform different and diverse teams or groups into one uniform structure designed to achieve something. It is also a general observation that every organization has some people who can be identified as eminent in comparison of their colleagues (Robbins & Judge, 2012). In fact, it is their special traits that make them distinguish among other. It would be fair to say that people who are capable to direct and motivate others to develop their aims and achieve target can be determined as leaders. Leaders not only develop passion in their employees but also enhance their skills to achieve difficult objectives.

It is also a fact that most of the managers or supervisors remain fail to understand the behaviors of employees. This means, Jennifer's supervisor should academically try to understand her behavior in order to identify any factor affecting her performance and working attitude. He should cooperate with her to develop a learning attitude and also evaluate his own behavior as sometimes the behavior of a manager or supervisor can be a reason of performance problems. Another important thing is that the supervisor needs to motivate the employee to learn difficult things and encourage that she can achieve the tasks (Hellriegel & Slocum, ...
