Introduction

Employment engagement and employee empowerment are amongst the most recent, yet the most powerful concepts, which have guaranteed success to a lot of companies across the globe. While this practice is new for companies now working in the United States very recently, however the concept rooted from United Kingdom and has been an important practice for the companies surviving and running their businesses in the country.

While employment relations now taking place in the area of UK-based organizations, it becomes relatively clear to highlight and identify the kind of leverages and standing that employees now have with the company. While work maybe central in companies, in terms of quality, demand, time or even cost efficiency, maintaining a strong, long-term and close-knit network with employees is the most important facet, which would guarantee the success or failure of the organization.

Management and integration of people is probably amongst the most difficult steps that companies and top management now focus upon; with companies now focusing upon the development of intellectual capital development - inducting and retaining quality human resource - it posts great pressure and stress for companies to maintain a stronger relationship with the employees.

Problem Statement

The problem statement, around which our entire research shall be tailored, would be 'highlighting the employment relations strategies in UK-based organizations'. Here, the major point of focus and discussion shall take place with reference to the airline industry currently existing in the United Kingdom.

Our research aim which evolves around this study shall be:

Understanding the types of employment relations used in the context of the organizations that are currently functioning in the United Kingdom; and

The measures and steps undertaken in the airline industry, more specifically the British Airways.
