Introduction

     The major reason of this paper is to make a case investigation of Maggie who is employed as an expert nurse. On 9th August 2010 Maggie came into work late as her vehicle had broken down. She was verbally misused by Deidre in front of other constituents of employees and parents who were lowering their young children off. She said that Maggie was habitually 'skiving' and the nursery had a better air when she was absent. Maggie sensed humiliated by this. A week subsequent Deidre notified Maggie that her hours would be expanded from 30 hours a week to 35 hours a week with no boost in pay. Maggie disputed that the expanded hours would be too much for her but Deidre denied to listen. She was so distressed that day she forgot to turn the nursery heating scheme off when she left for the day. A couple of days subsequent Maggie was called to a disciplinary gathering by Deidre where she was notified that she had too numerous days off sick,  was irresponsible in departing the heating scheme off and was to be demoted to deputy manager. Maggie directly composed a grievance note which she dispatched to Tony and Kate. Maggie was off ill for the next week due to a tension associated illness. During this week Deidre phoned Maggie at dwelling and on her wireless pressurising Maggie to arrive to a meeting to talk about the grievance which she would chair. Maggie stayed off ill until she relinquished by note on the 15th October.

 

Discussion

     In this case, UK's employment regulation is applied. The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations of 2006 is a part of legislation that was evolved in the United Kingdom in alignment to tame employers from abusing their workers in any way. It is as an outcome of discussions with constituent of states of the European Union who sensed in 2000 that they required a legislation to comprise the topic of discrimination in the workplace on ground of age. The UK government thus took the start to first tract the topic and came up with this legislation, 'Employment Equality (Age) Regulations of 2006'.
