Introduction In order to become an employer of Choice, a company must achieve heights of success and attributes that makes it number one choice of the employees. In order to be the number one choice, the most important thing for an organization is to considerate towards its human resource. If the organization takes care of it's human resource and provide their basic rights, then organization could expect strong commitment from employees and it may well become most preferred choice.

Motivation One of the most important aspects necessary to attract prospective employees is the good word of mouth of existing employees. It could only be possible if employees are motivated towards their own work and is happy with what the employees are getting from the company in return. Your employee must be on top priority of the organization. It is important for the organization to motivate employees in such a way that they have an ambition to advance in the organization. If they didn't, you wouldn't have hired them. Now take advantage of that mindset. Staff is most motivated when they can test their abilities in new and challenging ways. Make sure your people know there are compelling career paths available to them at your company — and what they might look like. Meet with staff on a periodic basis to discuss their professional goals and ways you can support those objectives. Be willing to pair junior and new staff with mentors, and invest in training programs that will help people enhance their skills (Omotomi Adegoke, 2002).

Work Environment The company must go beyond providing donuts on Fridays and make your office truly an enjoyable place to come to work each day. The emphasis should be on recognizing the value each person brings to the company. When launching new initiatives, try to solicit input from everyone in your group, including administrative staff, through meetings and brainstorming sessions. You never know where the next great idea will come from. Explain how each person's role is tied to specific organizational goals, so they feel a personal connection to projects.

Also trust your team to take control of their work and manage challenges independently. Eliminate unnecessary steps in approval processes to reduce frustrating roadblocks to progress.

Be accessible to staff if they have questions or concerns about their work. Make sure that if you claim to have an "open door" policy, you take it literally. During times you know you'll be particularly busy, consider appointing someone to serve as your backup or let employees know the best time and way to reach you (Nankervis, Compton & Morrissey, 2009).

Re-evaluate salary levels periodically. Are you paying competitively? If not, you risk sending the message that you don't fully appreciate your employees' contributions.
