E-waste encompasses ever growing range of obsolete electronic devices such as computers, servers, major frames, monitors, TVs & display devices, telecommunication devices such as cellular phones & pagers, calculators, audio and video devices, printers, scanners, copiers and fax machines besides refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, and microwave ovens, e-waste also covers notes devices such as DVDs, CDs, floppies, tapes, publishing cartridges, infantry electronic waste, automobile catalytic converters, electronic components such as chips, processors, mother boards, published circuit boards, industrial electronics such as sensors, alarms, sirens, security devices, automobile electronic devices.

Electronic waste or e-waste is one of the quickly increasing ecological problems of the world. In U.S.A, the electronic waste administration assumes larger significance not only due to the lifetime of our own waste but also discarding of e-waste especially computer waste from the evolved countries.

With extensively using computers and electronic equipments and persons discarding vintage electronic goods for new ones, the allowance of E-Waste developed has been steadily increasing. At present Bangalore solely generates about 8000 tonnes of computer waste every year and in the absence of correct disposal, they find their way to scrap dealers.

On America Recycles Day, President Obama signed a proclamation celebrating the strides the homeland has made in recycling usually, while also highlighting the require for larger vigilance to addressing electronic waste (e-waste).  Last week, the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the General Services Administration (GSA) formed a task force, under the Executive Order on Federal Sustainability, ascribed with assisting the government government lead by demonstration in responsibly organising used electronics.
